Club Notes – 7th December 2022

Tá muid thar a bheith sásta gur bhronnadh Gradam Bhonn Bonn Cré-umha ar an chlub ag bronnadh Fhondúireacht Sheosamh Mhic Dhonncha Oíche Aoine i bPáirc an Chrócaigh. The club was delighted to be presented with a bronze medal award from the Joe McDonagh Foundation in recognition of the work that has been done in promoting the Irish language by the club at an awards dinner in Croke Park on Friday night. Our Chairperson Phil Flanagan and Irish Language Officer Ursula Ní Fiaich accepted the award on behalf of the club.

A wonderful night’s craic was had by all on Saturday in Charlie’s Bar, Tempo for our Night at the Races. Congratulations to all our winners and thanks to all our sponsors, who were Brian Owens Kitchens, McCaffrey Bros, Skip Services and Dromore Vivo. Charlie Kelly sponsored the best dressed award, which was won by Caitríona Breen and Stephen Cassidy. Made in Tempo donated two vouchers for the raffle. Thanks to Brian and Dympna for making it all happen, as well as Sarah for managing the finances and Aidan, Niall, Rory and Stephen for acting as bookies on the night. The whole event was to raise money for Tempo Maguires and for Tempo St Vincent de Paul and was a very successful event. Huge appreciation to all those who sold horses in the run up to the event to make it all happen. Keep an eye on social media for details on the presentation to Tempo St Vincent de Paul, whose members joined us on Saturday. Congratulations to Tony McQuaid and Laurence White, who were the two winners of the ‘Win a House in Fermanagh’ Competition Tickets on the night.

The annual Christmas Concern collection, organised by Tempo Maguires, will be on 17th December this year. As usual we require volunteers to offer up their time to help with the collection. If you are free on 17th, please let Vonnie know on 07974565154 so that a rota can be drafted.

We were blown away with the generosity of people to the call for donations of food, which have been passed onto Enniskillen Foodbank. In total, 25 full hampers were given to the Foodbank, which provides a vital lifeline for so many people in need. Thanks to everyone for their generosity and a huge congratulations to Leda Fry who worked away tirelessly in the background collecting the goods, sorting them into hampers and handing them over. We are delighted to be supporting a number of charities at this time and we are grateful to everyone for their contributions to these good causes.

Our Referee Hugh Breen was presented with his medal (for overseeing the 2022 U13 FL Division 1 Final in Páirc Naomh Padráig) from Cathaoirleach an Chontae Brian Armitage on Saturday night. Congratulations to Hugh and well done on another good year as a referee. We are looking for a second referee for the upcoming year and if this appeals to you, please get in touch.

The Tempo Dads & Lads collective headed to Louis Leonard Memorial Park in Donagh on Saturday to play in a tournament against St Patrick’s, Killyclogher and Belnaleck. It was a good afternoon’s craic. Sessions continue weekly and new members are always welcome.

Saturday’s Lotto Jackpot was £8,800. There was no lucky winner matching 4,9,11 and 21. The winner of the £100 Win a House in Fermanagh ticket was Lynn Foster. Next week’s jackpot is £8,900. Remember that you can play online at TempoMaguires.gaa.ie or in the usual places with an envelope.

Club Promoters are busy selling tickets for Fermanagh GAA’s Win a House in Fermanagh Competition. Tickets are £100 each and can be purchased from www.winahouseinfermanagh.com but be sure to selected Tempo Maguires as your club as we get £25 on each mentioned sale. If you want to purchase a ticket from a member, please let us know.
