What an exciting evening in the club’s development as the latest phase of our floodlighting project comes to fruition. The first three of our floodlight poles are now erected and operational, providing much needed lighting to our training pitch.
We still have another two poles to erect in the coming weeks to finish this part of the job but with both Senior Men and Ladies preparing for Championship Semi Finals this Sunday, the Canon Marron Playing Field is getting well used and the lights are very badly needed.
A massive word of thanks to our Cairde Tempo members for making this financially possible, along with a loan from the GAA’s National Development Fund. (We are still looking for new members to help us grow by the way 😉)
Thanks to Musco Lighting for supplying the lights, Gary Robinson, Cathal Owens and the team at Gary Robinson Electrical for the electrical work, Stephen Farry (Farry Construction) for the pole erection, Brian & Aidy Bogue for the groundworks, Eugene Howe for the design/consultancy, St Michael’s Diocesan Trust for leasing the land to us and to Campbell Contracts Ltd for offloading/storage.
A final word of thanks to the members of our Club Committee who have demonstrated the vision, drive and capability to make this happen. If we have missed someone, I apologise.
Best wishes to all our members, players and coaches in the time ahead. We hope that this fantastic development will make the long, challenging winter ahead shorter, more enjoyable and hopefully blessed with silver wear.
